IDX Solution: Setup $500 – $40 per mo.

Our flexible IDX Manager is add-on software design to pull data from your IDX feed and populate your site with your listings and the listings of other MLS member agents.

This is the ideal solution for anyone who wants to have the ability to import from a compatible MLS IDX FTP repository into their website.

Our IDX solutions are integrated into your site content, rather than hosted in another location and/or framed onto your site. The listings and search results pages are actually a part of your site; they can attract a lot of pertinent search engine traffic. A cohesive IDX solution also means you have more control over the search functions, as we have direct access to the data feed.

We always find it fascinating when someone hires a designer because of the work in their portfolio and their experience, but then decides to micromanage most of the design decisions made. Whenever you hire a professional designer, you can be assured they always have your best interest in mind. If they’re a veteran, they know what they’re doing and want to create something truly amazing for you!

Don’t ask your designer to create a Flash intro for your site… or try to specify the use of Joomla when it’s totally wrong for your project. Don’t stress that your designer use Papyrus or Comic Sans for your logo. That’s a really bad move — even if you happen to be Peter Jackson and you just made the highest grossing film of all time.

The point is this…Hire a designer you trust, then let them work. Revisions are always a part of the equation. Let them make something beautiful for you. So, if your designer tells you that something is a bad idea, listen. Chances are that the designer is right and had a reason for telling you this. Remember they work for you and want to impress you away with their work.

You can’t please everyone. I know, it’s cliche, but it is true; not everyone or, everything, gets along.

For whatever reason, vanilla ice cream is wildly popular compared to any other flavor, even the 2nd-most-popular, by quite a margin. However, looking at the statistics you’ll see that not even a third of the world claims it as their favorite. I’m a fan of coffee ice cream, but when I walk into some stores I know I won’t find it. Disappointing. The person that made the first batch of coffee ice cream, I’m sure, was convinced that theirs is the Better Way. It only proves that variety is the spice of life… there isn’t always a “best” way.

Which brings me to my point; it’s the same with Web browsers. Two browsers stand out as the most popular Web browsers in use today. Web developers need to bear this in mind as we build Web sites. We also need to consider the other browsers on the list, not to mention the different versions of Internet Explorer. But at some point we have to count the time, effort, and cost involved. There’s a philosophical issue as well: as the world becomes more Web-standards compliance, we are compelled to support that compliance to the degree we’re able.

At Sandstone Digital we accommodate everyone we can, so we build sites that are compatible for the current versions of these major browsers:

Internet Explorer

Firefox

Safari (on Mac OS X)

If your favorite browser doesn’t appear here, don’t despair; one of our services is to make your site appear the same way on your browser of choice as it does on the more popular browsers… just let us know and we’ll make it work.
